Wellness juice, delectable home-made cinnamon scroll and croissant at Post

December is the time for reflection on the year that was, and I don’t think many of us would have imagined 2020 would have turned out quite like it has.

Lockdown was awful and the after effects to business has been enormous, so this year let’s celebrate and frequent local businesses as much as possible.

To close off 2020 I have chosen our top three brunch spots of the year.

I am very fond of my Asian brunches and my number one spot this year goes to Sedap Café in East Victoria Park.

The delicious, authentic and well priced Malaysian café serves up food which is so yummy I couldn’t go past making them the number one spot for the year.  They scored 4.5 for their brunch in our July column, which was also the highest score for the year. If you have never tried Malaysian food this is the best spot to start a new cuisine love affair.

The second on the list is Post in the State Buildings, which according to our Editor Jen had the most delicious home-made cinnamon scroll and coffee.

Post is a must for a visit to soak up the atmosphere of point zero in Perth and the take in the heritage of this wonderfully re-energised building. We reviewed Post in our August issue and they came in with a four out of five.

Long standing WA café brand Dôme came in third and they also scored 4 out of five. This good quality, well priced reliable option has sites across many suburbs in the state.

I reviewed them in the November issue and was impressed with the consistency and broad choices across their menu.

If you have a favourite brunch spot you would like to recommend and share with readers for 2021, don’t hesitate to drop me a line at tahlia@haveagonews.com.au

I take this opportunity to wish readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
