This year marks WAAPA’s 40th anniversary and it also marks the final WAAPA in the Park concert so don’t miss your opportunity to attend this iconic free family concert. WAAPA, ECU and the City of Stirling will continue their successful partnership into the future. Stay tuned!

Bring your family and friends, a picnic rug and hamper to this year’s WAAPA in the Park, a free family-friendly evening of popular songs and cool classics performed at Ron Stone Park in Mount Lawley on Saturday 14 March at 7pm.

Presented by the City of Stirling, Edith Cowan University and WAAPA since 2007, don’t miss this final WAAPA in Park before it transforms into a fresh new event next year.

Be wowed by the incredible musical talent that’s on your doorstep at Australia’s premier performing arts academy, as WAAPA’s Jazz and Contemporary student musicians rock, bop and strut their way through a collection of old and new jazz, funk, soul, R ‘n’ B and pop classics.

The students will light up the night with a stellar set of music by some of the world’s biggest artists including the Eagles, George Michael, Ariana Grande, John Mayer and Sara Bareilles.

Behind the scenes, WAAPA’s Production and Arts Management students will take care of the technical details needed to bring this special event to life, including the stage management, lighting, sound and front-of-house management.

City of Stirling Mayor, Mark Irwin said this annual outdoor performance has been a much-loved event on the City’s calendar.

“We are very proud to partner with WAAPA to deliver an event that brings the community together for such a magical evening, and look forward to more exciting collaborations in years to come,” Mayor Irwin said.

So pack your picnic rug and hamper, and enjoy a fabulous and fun evening of music under the stars. Arrive early to secure your spot – show starts at 7pm and finishes at 9pm.

WAAPA in the Park is proudly presented by the City of Stirling, Edith Cowan University and the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
