The hills come alive in October for the annual festival…

The Livelighter Perth Hills Festival will be held on Saturday 12 October from 9am to 4.30pm and welcomes people from across Perth.

The festival was started 36 years ago by The Hills Orchard Improvement Group Inc which is a group of local orchardists in the Perth Hills, as well as ones from GinGin and Manjimup.

The group decided to start a field day all those years ago which evolved into a festival that showcases local fruit, cooking demonstrations, fruit kebab making for kids, fruit tree sales, heritage displays, colouring competitions, awards to community members, free rides and activities for children under 12 years.

During the event there is also a bus tour to local orchards which runs three times during the day and is always very popular.

The festival is a wonderful family day out in a relaxed rural atmosphere.

This year’s festival is held in the last week of the October school holidays and is a great event for families who may be struggling to find activities to do during that last week.  It is also very affordable.

Entry to the festival is Adults $10, Teens 13 – 17 $5, pensioners and seniors $5 and kids under 12 years free.

The Festival will be held at Old Station Road, Karragullen in the Perth Hills.
