Don’t miss sweet sensations with the WA Opera exclusive chocolate box …

Now you can savour your opera moment long after the final curtain closes with Sue Lewis Chocolatier and West Australian Opera’s limited edition West Australian Opera 2020 Chocolate Box.

This show-stopping collaboration combines the artistry of opera with the artistry of Sue Lewis Chocolatier’s signature chocolates.

“At Sue Lewis we pride ourselves on creating sweet moments that you want to savour, and that’s how we feel every time we experience a truly incredible opera. You want to savour every moment from the music, to the performances to the visuals and that’s what we’ve aimed to do create with our West Australian Opera collaboration,” says Sue Lewis. “Each flavour showcases unique ingredients that are specific to that show and will hopefully transport you back to that specific opera moment one bite at a time.”

The West Australian Opera 2020 Chocolate Box features four unique Sue Lewis chocolates, which are each, inspired by a different West Australian Opera 2020 production. Be seduced by the aromas and flavours of the Dark Forest with the Hansel and Gretel Gingerbread, celebrate local flavours, produce and stories with our Bran Nue Dae Saltbush Caramel, indulge in the flavours of Sicily with our Limoncello Cavalleria Rusitcana and experience the flavours of Imperial China with our The Nightingale Mandarin Spice.

Savour these opera moments for a limited time only. West Australian Opera 2020 Chocolate Box is available until Saturday, 22 February at the Sue Lewis Chocolatier store and comes in two sizes. A 4-piece box is available for $12.50 and 12-piece box at $40.

In addition to the West Australian Opera 2020 Chocolate box, West Australian Opera and Sue Lewis Chocolatier have also collaborated on a series of chocolate workshops inspired by this year’s City of Perth Opera in the Park Hansel and Gretel.

The family-friendly FREE opera concert will take place at Supreme Court Gardens on Saturday, 22 February and retells the classic cautionary tale of siblings Hansel and Gretel who are seduced by the tantalising flavours and aromas of the Dark Forest.

The ‘Hansel and Gretel Children’s Chocolate Workshops’ which launched last Saturday, give children an opportunity to take part in a hands-on workshop with Sue herself. Participants learn the basics of chocolate along with how to temper chocolate by hand and about the moulding and decorating process. Each child will make their own Dark Forest chocolate bark and a special limited-edition Hansel and Gretel Dark Forest chocolate tree.

In addition to the children’s workshops, Sue Lewis Chocolatier will also be running an Adult Chocolate Workshops Saturday, 8 February. Participants will learn from Sue herself about the process of chocolate from bean to bar and Sue will demonstrate how to temper chocolate, make tree shells and ganache flavours.

To coincide with the family fun of City of Perth Opera in the Park Hansel and Gretel, Sue Lewis Chocolatier will also be running a FREE Chocolate Demonstration on Saturday, 22 February in the afternoon leading up to the FREE family concert.
