WA’s young ballet stars take to the stage for Sleeping Beauty
The power of true love’s kiss, a beautiful princess, and her enchanting kingdom – Princess Aurora was cursed at birth by the wicked fairy Carabosse, that on her 16th birthday she will prick her finger on a needle and die.
With the magic of the Lilac Fairy, she doesn’t die – she falls into a deep slumber, awaiting her awakening with a kiss from a Prince.
Marius Petipa’s, Sleeping Beauty, was first performed in 1890, and features the elegant score of Tchaikovsky.
This iconic production, with simply extravagant sets, stunning costumes and magical characters will sweep you off your feet, into the fairy tale… it’s not to be missed.
The Charlesworth Ballet Institute presents Sleeping Beauty at Crown Theatre Perth on Friday 14 December, at 6.30pm and Saturday 15 December, at 11.30am and 3.30pm.
