Iconic Perth hotel enters new era

Pan Pacific Perth, a symbol of elegance and hospitality for more than 50 years, has entered a new era of graceful luxury with the completion of its highly anticipated renovation which includes its 488 guest rooms and suites, lobby, Pan Pacific Club Lounge and the hotel’s expansive meeting and event spaces.

The hotel’s refreshed interiors, redesigned lobby, and elevated Pacific Club Lounge integrates inspiration from Western Australia’s natural beauty along with Pan Pacific’s Asian heritage, offering guests a blend of modern luxury and local charm.

On Friday May 19 guests were treated to a lavish celebration to mark the hotel’s refurbishment and Have a Go News was pleased to be a part of the celebrations. More than 350 people came to celebrate this iconic hotel as it enters a new era offering the largest and most versatile event space in Perth, which includes a convention level and event spaces that feature over 2,500sqm of versatile areas, and two ballrooms with dedicated pre-function spaces. Helmed by experienced meeting planners, and enhanced with modern AV technology and flexible configurations, the spaces are ideal for everything from large-scale conferences to immersive brand activations and elegant celebrations.

Joel Creasy was the master of ceremonies for the relaunch event

No expense was spared as Pan Pacific Perth showcased its function rooms, the food and beverage offerings and some of the most innovative audio visual components. The high quality screen which covered an entire wall of the ballroom was a focal point. Joel Creasy returned to Perth to MC the event and Perth born Samantha Jade also returned to her home city to put on an uplifting performance which saw everyone up and dancing.

For more than 50 years this hotel has been in the forefront of Perth life and set against the backdrop of Perth’s riverfront and cultural heart, Pan Pacific Perth’s transformation blends luxury with purpose, reflecting Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s (PPHG) deep commitment to sustainability.

Innovative features include decorative panels made from repurposed denim, hand-pressed natural herbs, and furniture made of 100 per cent recycled oceans plastics, each crafted to reduce waste and celebrate natural materials.

PPHG was also recently recognised as the first hospitality brand in Oceania to receive the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Multi-site certification for all six of its Australian properties, highlighting its leadership in sustainable hospitality.

“We are incredibly proud of this transformation, which not only reaffirms our commitment to luxury and sustainability but also strengthens our identity as a place of celebration – something we’ve proudly been for over three decades,” said Rens Breur, General Manager of Pan Pacific Perth. “This refurbishment is more than a revitalisation of our guest rooms and event spaces; it’s a meaningful evolution that reflects our core values and underscores our continued investment in Perth’s vibrant hospitality landscape. For so many, Pan Pacific Perth has been the backdrop to life’s milestone moments. With this transformation, we’re elevating that legacy – enhancing our offering to deliver exceptional experiences. As the city’s largest hotel convention destination, our flexible venues are perfectly suited for everything from executive meetings and large-scale conferences to truly memorable celebrations.”

Another key moment for the property, aligning with the unveiling, is the debut of UMA’s “Journey Through The Amazon” menu, a culinary voyage celebrating the diverse and bold flavours of the continent. Executive chef Xerxes Bodhanwala’s new menu brings together all corners of South America, from the highlands of Peru, to the busy streets of Chile, through the soul of Brazil, and the ancient spirit of Machu Picchu.

The restaurant, a favourite among locals and visitors alike, continues to push the boundaries of gastronomic creativity, offering a blend of Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese influences within its new signature South American-inspired menu. UMA’s striking design, featuring earthy tones and vibrant artwork, sets the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable dining experience, with pool and river views enhancing the atmosphere.
