On Friday October 3, Perth City will shine bright in blue as more than 20 iconic locations light up in support of St Bart’s and our community’s most vulnerable people.
This city-wide illumination serves as a beacon of hope for those experiencing homelessness and the mental health challenges that often accompany it.
“Together with our partners, we are proud to launch Light the Way, encouraging conversations, empathy, and fundraising support for those in need. We invite everyone to get involved and join us,” said St Bart’s CEO, Samantha Drury.
Over the past 12 months, about 25,000 Western Australians have received support from specialist homelessness services. This includes families, women, and men all struggling to find a safe and secure place to call home.
As part of the event, St Bart’s invites the community to experience the Tunnel of Light on Friday October 3 and Saturday October 4, from 4pm to 8pm at 253 St Georges Terrace, Perth. Created by the talented team at ICS Group, the Tunnel of Light reflects the reality that anyone can experience homelessness and inspires hope and connection.
“Our aim is to continue the conversation about homelessness, its impact on individuals physical and mental health, as well as the broader effects on our society,” said Mrs Drury.
“The support we have received from Perth’s business community and media partners, Channel 9 demonstrates the compassion that exists for those in need. For the people we support, this means the world, and we are deeply grateful,” added Ms Drury.
