The WA Women’s Hall of Fame ‘Call for Nominations’ 2025, was officially launched in Parliament House by the Honourable Sue Ellery MLC, Minister for Finance; Commerce, Women’s Interests, and Leader of the Government Legislative Council.
Following a Welcome to Country by proud Whadjuk Noongar Elder and 2016 Inductee Glenda Kickett, Fiona Reid, Chairperson WA Women’s Hall of Fame, announced the 2025 ‘Call for Nominations’ Champions, and a forthcoming Anniversary for the WA Women’s Hall of Fame.
In her address Ms Reid said, “As we mark the significant milestone of our 15th year Anniversary, I find myself reflecting on the wide array of women who come from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, across sectors, and around the state, who have been recognised for their contributions, their achievements, and their commitment to the betterment of fellow Western Australian’s, this year’s Champions are but a few of those inspiring women”.

2015 Inductee Emeritus Professor Cheryl Praeger AC, Mathematician,

2020 Inductee Sharon Wood-Kenney, Executive Cultural Navigation Lead,
2022 Inductee Associate Professor Paola Magni, Forensic Scientist,
2023 Inductee Dr. Charmaine Papertalk Green, Author, Poet, Social Science Researcher.
Ms. Reid went on to say: “As we open nominations for 2025, the WA Women’s Hall of Fame commit to continuing to tell the stories of women’s significant contributions to our community, fostering greater respect for women, and progressing gender equity for all.
Nominations open online, September 12 2024, and close December 4, 2024.
Nominations will be accepted in the categories of: Health, Community, STEM & Technical Trades, Culture, Education, Arts, Sport, and Business. Nominations are also welcome for the ’Roll of Honour’, to be inducted posthumously.
The Hall of Fame is an incredible record of the diversity in life for women around Western Australia. It celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, reflecting on how far we have come, and how far we still must go to realise gender equality.
