The WA Senior of the Year Awards celebrate the incredible contributions of older Western Australians and those who work to support them. This prestigious event, coordinated by Council on the Ageing (WA) in partnership with the Department of Communities, provides a platform to honour seniors and advocates who are making a significant difference in our communities.

Whether you’re a local government, business, or individual, we invite you to nominate someone who exemplifies leadership, community spirit, or innovation in supporting older people. Help us shine a light on the individuals and organisations dedicated to improving the lives of Western Australia’s seniors. 

Award Categories: 

  1. WA Senior of the Year – Metropolitan 
    Recognising individuals aged 55+ from the Perth Metropolitan Region for leadership, community spirit, or dedicated service. 
  1. WA Senior of the Year – Regional 
    Honouring seniors aged 55+ from regional WA for their outstanding contributions to their local communities. 
  1. WA Age Friendly Business of the Year 
    Celebrating businesses or organisations providing exceptional services or opportunities for seniors. 
  1. WA Age Friendly Local Government of the Year 
    Acknowledging local governments innovating to create age-friendly communities. 
  1. WA Seniors Advocate of the Year 
    Recognising advocates of any age who are dedicated to raising awareness and improving the lives of seniors.

  1. Nomination Closing Date: Monday, October 14, 2024, 5:00PM 
  2. Awards Ceremony: WA Seniors Week 2024 (12 November, 2024)
