Around this time every year the Salvation Army hold the Salvos Red Shield Appeal Fundraiser Event to launch the Red Shield Appeal in WA.
Sadly this year the event had to be cancelled. Not only that, but the doorknocking and shopping centre collections are not going ahead either.
However the needs of the community are still there – and the Salvation Army is concerned that it may get worse once Government support tapers off over the next few months.
The contact that people may normally have with the Salvos will be pretty limited this year but they still require assistance.
If anyone can help by donating to their digital doorknock which supports those in the community who are doing it tough or may over the coming months.
