Hands Across the Water is an Australian charity established to support Thai kids who were orphaned by the 2004 Tsunami.
Today it supports more than 350 children living in seven homes across Thailand providing a safe, caring and educational environment empowering kids to live a better life.
Have a Go News food writer Noelene Swain from Fresh Finesse has committed to ride 500km across Thailand in five days starting March 28 – in hot (typically over 35°) and humid conditions to raise $5,000 to support these special kids.
She first tackled this charity ride in 2018 and said it proved to be one of the most difficult and rewarding experiences of her life.
“It has left a desire to help children with desperate circumstances to live a life of choice not chance. So I’m back on the bike again to support Hands Across the Water. I’m a few years older now and this will be my fourth ride but it definitely doesn’t get any easier,” said Noelene.
“This ride is way out of my comfort zone yet I embrace it knowing I have the support of committed riders to inspire me when the peddling gets tough and generous supporters to help raise the funds!”
Noelene would love your support! If you want to help with a donation just click on the link below and contribute whatever you feel comfortable donating. As an Australian charity with TGR status all donations over $2 are tax deductible.

All funds raised go to providing shelter, food and education for the kids. Riders pay their own airfares, accommodation and expenses for the ride. 100% of donations go straight to Hands Across the Water projects to help the kids – nothing is spent on administration and marketing.
