Located in one of Perth’s grand dames the old Palace Hotel, a city favourite is having a little make over and we are excited to share a sneak peek.
In September 2018 The Meat & Wine Co opened its doors to diners looking for modern cuisine. Over the last five years the restaurant has enjoyed excellent reviews and was particularly revered for its steak offerings in the lush surrounds of the old Palace Hotel’s Ballroom.
It’s is no surprise the reviews were excellent because this restaurant is connected to popular 6Head at Elizabeth Quay and the quality of meat from that restaurant rivals the world’s best.
Housed in the old Palace Hotel’s ballroom the venue is currently closed while it enjoys a re-design to celebrate its African inspired heritage.
Good news is the revitalised interiors conceptualised by architects from COOOP will be ready to open its doors again on June 2.
COOOP is renowned for applying predictive human behavioural knowledge to design, showcasing an exquisite selection of new furnishings, including elegant high-back banquette seating, complemented by state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems.
The design concept will deeply resonate with The Meat & Wine Co. brand’s African cultural inspiration. Guests will be captivated by custom-crafted Acacia trees, the iconic symbol of the African landscape, taking a central and commanding presence within the dining room.
Thoughtfully designed booths will also be integrated along the periphery of the space, creating intimate and engaging dining enclaves.
Principal and creative director of COOOP Australia, Callie Van Der Merwe said: “The design refresh is both aesthetic and a successful mechanism to bind the disconnect and duality between the old Baroque-Esque detail of the old ballroom and the new contemporary extension of The Meat & Wine Co.”
Finding restaurants for special occasions is important and The Meat & Wine Co’s Palace offering will unveil the magnificently transformed “ballroom” space, ready to welcomes guests for a revitalising and luxurious steakhouse experience.
