Keep active at home with Professor Ken Nosaka

In a time when social distancing, self-isolation and uncertainty has taken control of our daily lives, ECU’s researchers provide some comfort and practical advice on how to manage life through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Join Professor Ken Nosaka, Director of Exercise and Sports Science, School of Medical and Health Sciences for a discussion on “How we can stay physically active at home; Benefits of home-based exercises.”

In this short, 20 minute webinar we will discuss how a lack of regular exercise leads to reduced muscle strength, coordination, balance, flexibility and mobility, and increases the risk of many chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, stroke and dementia.

Professor Nosaka will explain why regular exercise is so important and provide some tips on what we could do at home during the COVID-19 crisis to achieve the recommendations of 30 minutes of exercise for adults and 60 minutes for children each day.

You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentation.

Webinars will be conducted live via Microsoft Teams. A weblink will be provided at a later date and a recording will be made available for viewing post-event.

You can download the Microsoft Teams application or view from a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) on your mobile device or desktop (Windows or Mac). On Tuesday 19 May 2020 at 11am.
