KU DE TA collaborates with Cygnet Bay Pearls for Christmas to assist Save the Children

KU DE TA has teamed up with Australian pearling pioneers, Cygnet Bay Pearls, to offer diners a special pearl experience this Christmas. Celebrating natural beauty, KU DE TA’s sweeping river views plays the perfect backdrop to showcase the Cygnet Bay’s Australian South Sea pearls. Customers will get to try pearl inspired dishes and cocktails, and proceeds will be donated to Save the Children organisation.

Entree – Broome pearl ceviche / cauliflower / sweet almond / bonito

From 1st to 24th menu, KU Dining will be serving a three course pearl inspired menu, featuring Broome pearl ceviche and ocean trout, along with a matching lavish cocktail. This is no ordinary menu – it also comes with surprises in the form of jewellery! Customers will have the choice of taking home a ‘Kimberley Lily’ lariat pendant (in 9ct yellow, rose or white gold) or a ‘Kimberley Lily’ ring (in 9ct yellow, rose of white gold).

The new Cygnet Bay jewellery collection, Kimberley Lily, draws its inspiration from the stunning natural lily varieties found throughout the rugged and remote Kimberley region of North West Australia. Having one of the single most impressive ranges of native lilies in the world, with over 3,500 varieties recorded. The 3 course menu for two guests, along with the lariat pendant is $1,500, with $600 going towards Save the Children.

Mains – Ocean trout / seaweed / avocado / fried pearl meat

Luxurious Mabe Cocktails will be served in West and The Deck for $20, with the option to also receive a half pearl ‘Mabe’ pendant with special Save the Children branding on the back, along with a Sterling Silver Chain. The cocktail with the pendant is $240, with $100 going directly to Save the Children.

Managing Director of Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, James Brown, says they have chosen to partner with Save the Children to be able to directly help local kids in the Kimberley and provide them with opportunities that every Australian should have.

“After generations of pearling in the remote Kimberley I have witnessed firsthand the turbulent journey of the Aboriginal people, my oldest friends. Thanks to KU DE TA, we are able to reach out to the people of Perth and invite them to join us to bring direct benefit to kids in some of the most remote parts of WA – the very home of our beautiful Cygnet Bay Pearls.

“There are so many challenges and rewards in producing Australian pearls and I love my job, but it’s projects like this that get me super excited because it is such meaningful work and together we have a chance to be a positive force and to actually make a difference,” said Mr Brown.

Save the Children WA State Manager, Juan Larranaga, has been working to support the families in the Dampier Peninsula communities since 2009. “Our programs provide early childhood education and parent support services to these remote communities where facilities and services struggle to ‘close the gap’ in outcomes for Aboriginal children. The partnership with Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm and particularly James Brown’s passion to advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander rights in his local community has been an incredible support.

“We are excited that through this collaboration we will be able to assist more children throughout the Dampier Peninsula communities to receive the best possible start in life,” concluded Mr Larranaga.

Throughout the festive season, a sparkling Christmas tree adorned with pearls will be the centerpiece at KU DE TA. A pop up display case will also be showcased in the entrance of KU Dining and West where Cygnet Bay items can be viewed and tried on.
