Unwind at UnWined Food and Wine Festival in Subiaco…

UnWined Subiaco is back for its ninth year at Market Square Park in Subiaco on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October. This year will see all the favourites return including the indulgent VIP Club Lounge, Wine Theatre with both tasting and pairing sessions and the central Music Gazebo featuring local indi artists.

Added to the main festival in 2019 will see the new Culinary Series featuring five new events creating more reasons to visit Subiaco during the celebrations from Tuesday 22 October to Sunday 27 October.

Supported by See Subiaco, UnWined Subiaco is now a significant inner-city event boasting one of the best festival ranges of Western Australian wines in the state along with a great weekend of enjoyment for wine and beverage lovers.

City of Subiaco Mayor Penny Taylor sees UnWined and the new Culinary Series as an excellent way for people to enjoy and visit the popular Perth destination.

“UnWined Subiaco creates a fantastic reason for people to visit not only this event, but the bars, restaurants and retail offerings available in Subiaco.”

“I encourage people to get out and discover what is going on in Subiaco as part of their festival experience. If you can’t fit it all into one day, come back for more!”

“We’re looking forward to the first Culinary Series this year and are keen to see it grow over the years.”

For the main festival over the weekend, people can experience the best of WA’s wine, craft beer, cider and spirits to celebrate WA’s unique and boutique beverages.

With 65+ companies from regions across this extraordinary state, visitors can enjoy beverages from companies that they may not normally have access to. And with over 40 wineries expected to participate, it is the largest showing of WA wines in a festival setting in the state!

Richard Campbell, Director of festival founders CMS Events says that the event is a great place for people to explore WA wines in one place and with ease.

“We strongly encourage all visitors to support our local industry by buying glasses of wine or beer to enjoy on the day, and order some to take home.”

“There will also be a great range of tapas style food to compliment the exhibitor offering.”

With a free Wine Locker service, visitors can safely store their purchases until they are ready to leave each day.

After a sell out last year, the VIP Club Lounge is back for its fourth year. An exclusive retreat where patrons can enjoy local wine, beer and food, along with their own under cover and garden courtyard seating overlooking the grounds.

Join MasterChef Australia’s charismatic, genuine and engaging Derek Lau at the Wine Theatre for the Wine and Food Pairing Sessions each day! Known for his sweets and fried chicken, it was his knack for Dumplings that made him known as the ‘Dumpling Master’!

Derek will feature in the Wine Theatre, which will be home to four wine and food pairings and two wine appreciation classes over the two days. The wine sessions will be hosted by the team from Wine Education with the pairings being matched with food prepared by Derek.

Each day will also see live music from Delacosa Duo and Hart Trio to support the relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere of the event.
