Over 55s wanted…

Festival organisers are calling on Perth locals aged over 55 to collaborate in a playfully provocative live performance at this year’s Joondalup Festival.

The project, called Anything You Can Do, is a performance led by a two-month-long experiment that invites participants over 55 to demystify age-old myths about age through documenting provocative, real-life experiences to radically shift how young and old understand their own community.

Intergenerational differences take centre stage throughout the experience, as participants unpack taboo topics always as funny as they are fearless.

As part of the performance, castmates will workshop material, attend rehearsals, and ultimately perform live in three full-scale performances at Joondalup Festival.

Registrations to take part in the performance are now open, with the cut-off date for expressions of interest on 8 February 2025.

With no acting or performance experience necessary, members of the community from all backgrounds are invited to register to take part in this one-of-a-kind experience at this year’s Joondalup Festival, which will see more than 50 performances, installations and experiences take place across the City of Joondalup from March 15 – April 5.

Participants accepted to take part in this project will perform from March 20–22, with the public having the opportunity to purchase a ticket in anticipation of a wild night of entertainment from just $17.
