The Ghosts of Fremantle

Join experimental music/arts collective “Genrefonix” in the atmospheric Fremantle Prison Theatre for a fictional multimedia show featuring original horror music and immersive soundscapes. All performed live alongside compelling imagery of Fremantle’s architecture and its ghosts. See some of WA’s most haunted buildings brought to life through emotive tunes, eerie sound effects and imaginative ghost portraits created for the show.

The Ghosts of Fremantle is a visual feast told through story, black humour and haunting soundscapes narrated by WA’s most famous bushranger Moondyne Joe (Paul Rowe), a former inmate as he takes the crowd on a journey through Fremantle’s dark past. The original theatre screen used for prisoners will fire up once again, bringing history and imagination to life.

Each ghost has a story, each building a unique ambience. Share in the power and passion of the supernatural landscape of Fremantle. Spooky fun! Rockin’ tunes! Witness if you dare!

Band includes WAAPA jazz graduates and local Perth rockers – Brendan Giambazi (Bass & digital piano), Jeremy Sweeting (rhythm guitar), Paul Rowe (lead vocals/narration), Peter Finkle (percussion), Priam Bacich (lead guitar) and Will Axten (synthesisers, guitars).
