After a whirlwind tour across Canada and Australia in 2025, award- winning physical theatre artist Joylyn Secunda brings their internationally acclaimed solo show The Routine to FRINGE WORLD this summer.
‘To watch Joylyn Secunda in action is to breathe the same air as an utter master.’ — Edmonton Journal
The Routine follows a disillusioned office worker who discovers a portal hidden within their bathroom mirror. What unfolds is a masterful blend of physical comedy and poignant commentary on modern life, as Secunda transforms the monotony of the workplace into a
spectacular journey of self-discovery.
The show is a collaboration between Joylyn Secunda and their father/director David Secunda, building on the success of their previous hit, The Moaning Yoni, hailed by the Edmonton Journal as “one of the best of the 2019 Fringe.”
A Vancouver-based multidisciplinary artist, Secunda brings exceptional training and experience to this production, including mime study with Cirque du Soleil’s Dean Evans, mentorship under celebrated choreographer Crystal Pite, specialised study in corporeal mime at Théâtre Omnibus, and performances with Canada’s National Arts Centre. The creation of The Routine was supported by the Canada Council for the Arts.
