Christmas with Marina

Perth audiences can celebrate the festive season with Marina Prior, the leading lady of theatre and Carols by Candlelight, as she performs her most cherished and beloved Christmas songs in WA for the first time on Friday 14 December.

Christmas With Marina Prior at the Astor Theatre will be a captivating mix of traditional Christmas classics and delightful arrangements of family favourites as well as moments of reflection and stories of treasured Christmas occasions.

Joining Marina on stage is her long-time friend and renowned pianist David Cameron to share carols such as Angels We Have Heard On High, Mary’s Boy Child and When A Child Is Born. Audiences can also expect to hear musical theatre arrangements that Marina has made her signature show stoppers.

Adored by audiences of all ages, Marina Prior’s name is synonymous with the Christmas Carol Season –  having featured an incredible 27 times in the annual Carols by Candlelight concert televised by Channel 9 and watched by more than one million people across Australia each December.

“I’m so honoured to be included in the Carols concert each year and now to bring a part of that and my favourite Christmas songs to share with Perth audiences, is very special indeed,” says Marina.

Aside from her annual Carols by Candlelight appearances, Marina is best known for her starring roles in The Phantom of The Opera, Les Miserables, Cats, The Pirates of Penzance, West Side Story and Guys & Dolls among many others. She has also performed alongside international stars including Richard Harris and José Carreras.

In 2006, Marina was honoured with an induction into Australia’s 100 Entertainers of the Century.
