Garden and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to explore some of the South West’s best private gardens during the 2018 Spring Festival of Country Garden, 1-4 November 2018.
The Festival’s attractions include 18 gardens opening in Balingup, Greenbushes, Bridgetown, Nannup, Manjimup and Pemberton.
In addition to the gardens being open each day from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm there are events planned that include:
Thursday 1 November
- An Official Opening at the Festival Centre, Hillview Garden Centre, 200 Hampton St, Bridgetown. The Festival will be opened by Mr Tony Pratico, Shire President, Bridgetown Greenbushes Shire Council.
Friday 2 November
- A Paint and Flower Workshop – ‘Impressionism in Bloom’ on Friday 2 November at ‘Cotmore’ in Bridgetown.
- Wildflower and Bird Walk at Bridgetown Jarrah Park on Friday 2 November.
- Sundowner at the Cidery in Bridgetown
- ‘Love a Garden Party’ Dinner in the Barn at Ford House
Saturday 3 November
- Ashbil Community Garden. Visit the community garden in Bridgetown and see the changes that have been made since the last Spring Festival of Country Gardens including the bush tucker garden.
- Wildflower and Bird Walk at the Old Abattoir Walk, Bridgetown in the morning and another walk around Wandoo Valley in the afternoon.
- Greenbushes Community Garden and Education Centre will hold their 9th Birthday Celebration. There will be a ‘fauna friendly garden’ talk by the ABC’s Frog Doctor – Dr Johnny Prefumo as well as other events and competitions.
Sunday 4 November
- Bridgetown Spring Garden Fair at Ford House
- A guided walk through the World Collection in the Golden Valley Tree Park in Balingup led by Dr Chrissy Sharp co-founder of the arboretum and Jeff Pow, Committee member.
