It’s an emergency – free talk on how medical research helps doctors make life and death decisions

There were more than 8 million presentations to emergency departments in Australian public hospitals in 2017/18. That’s an average of 22,000 each day. Almost a quarter of these presentations were for injuries or poisoning.

Join Professor Daniel Fatovich as he reveals the latest clinical research to emerge from Royal Perth Hospital’s Emergency Department.

Broken bones, brain trauma, blood poisoning, heart attacks, asthma attacks and drug overdoses are just some of the reasons why we can be rushed to hospital at any time of the day or night – and when your world comes crashing down, Professor Daniel Fatovich is the person you want by your side.

Professor Daniel Fatovich is the director of research at both Royal Perth Hospital and the RPH Medical Research Foundation.

He is also a senior emergency physician and clinical researcher at Royal Perth Hospital Emergency Department, one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Australasia, and has more than 25 years of experience in the design and conduct of clinical trials.

Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Western Australia, Head of the Centre for Clinical Research in Emergency Medicine (CCREM) at Perkins and an Adjunct Professor at Curtin University are some of the other impressive strings to his bow.

Come along on Thursday 14 March to the City of Perth Library Auditorium at 573 Hay Street, Perth from 1pm to 2pm for this free talk.
