There were more than 8 million presentations to emergency departments in Australian public hospitals in 2017/18. That’s an average of 22,000 each day. Almost a quarter of these presentations were for injuries or poisoning.

Professor Daniel Fatovich is the director of research at both Royal Perth Hospital and the RPH Medical Research Foundation.
He is also a senior emergency physician and clinical researcher at Royal Perth Hospital Emergency Department, one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Australasia, and has more than 25 years of experience in the design and conduct of clinical trials.
Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Western Australia, Head of the Centre for Clinical Research in Emergency Medicine (CCREM) at Perkins and an Adjunct Professor at Curtin University are some of the other impressive strings to his bow.
