Just Friends is a Claremont based social group offering a safe and non-threatening environment for unattached persons over 55 years of age. The Club meets at the Claremont Yacht Club at 7.30pm for their Mix and Mingle which is held every second and fourth Tuesday of the month. Membership of the club is $80 per annum and visitors pay $10 and are allowed to attend three times before they either join the club or stop attending functions. Every week the club organises functions for their members, which include dinners, outings, house parties, dinner dancing, barefoot bowls , movie and theatre nights. Membership also entitles you to become a social member of the Claremont Yacht Club and this gives members even greater access to functions.

Stepping Out Social Club

Stepping Out is a Social Club for over 55’s promoting fun and friendship, companionship and activities for singles, partnered and married couples at affordable venues all around Perth.

The Club has been going for 20 years and has 50 members. Membership (Single: $30 / Couple: $45 with newsletter by email, or Single: $38 / Couple: $53 if newsletter is posted) covers Public Liability Insurance, the bi-monthly newsletter  and there are Club subsidized functions throughout the year.

You are welcome to attend up to three (3) functions before you decide to become a member.

The Northern Suburbs Women’s Friendship Group Inc. Merriwa

In December of 2017 a community of interested women from the northern suburbs of Perth came together to form a friendship group for themselves and other local women.

The purpose of the meeting was to create a welcoming and private place of safety and connection for women in our community as a means of reducing the social isolation that so many of us, especially older women living alone face with the ultimate aim of strengthening ourselves, our families and our communities by building self-confidence, foster respect for ourselves and others.

We are a non-for-profit group located at Jenolan Way Community Centre, 16 Jenolan Way, Merriwa operating two days a week Monday and Thursday from 9.30-2.00, the group is predominately older ladies over the age of 60 but any age group or nationality is welcome. We have many activities to chose from like Knitting, Sewing for Angel WA Sisters, many craft activities Line Dancing, Beginners Yoga, Low Impact Exercise, Belly Dancing, Meditation and Singing it is up to you whether you join in, some ladies just come for the companionship and support.

We also go for lunch once a month and the occasional day out like Arulen to see the Tulips in September.

WESTERN SOCIAL CLUB
Details

Enjoy a social get together on a Saturday night, at private homes or other venues North or South of the river. The club provide music for dancing and a supper, there is an entry fee.
We have weekends away a few times a year. There is a membership fee but people are welcome to come along as a visitor.

We have our own 14-seater bus (and trailer) which takes us wherever we want to go! Picnics, walks, concerts, movies, lunches, holidays, theatre - we have season bookings for WA Ballet, WASO, Black Swan Theatre and Darlington Chamber Music.
Membership: $60 single $80 double payable 1 July each year, with reduction for anyone joining in October, January or March. $10 off annual subscription if you receive your mailout (programme and newsletter) by email.
