Travel companies across the world are suspending operations to destinations due to the impact of coronavirus.
The Australian Federal Government have now initiated the cancellation of all non-essential overseas travel. Anyone arriving into Australia from overseas must be isolated for 14 days.
All cruise lines are stopped from entering Australia and most cruise lines have announced a suspension of activities to reduce the impact.
Most travel companies have suspended tours until the end of April. Hawaiian Airlines has suspended flights between Australia and New Zealand. As everything is changing on a day by day basis it’s essential to stay in touch with your travel agent.
Globus are offering a Peace of Mind scheme for their customers booked on holidays during the suspension the ability to reschedule their travel in 2020, 2021 or 2022 “to any destination, on any brand, without incurring cancellation fees”. They will also offers travellers credit of up to $300 per person when they reschedule their plans.
Premier Mark McGowan said the following: “I want to make it clear to Western Australians who are thinking about travelling overseas. This virus is spreading across the globe, and at a much faster rate in some countries. Please put your health first. Consider your family, your friends and your colleagues. If your overseas travel isn’t an absolute requirement, please reconsider it. Explore our great State instead. I promise you, you’ll enjoy it, and it is a safer option for you and your family. And it helps in our efforts to limit the spread of this virus in our community.”
