Hello everyone,
What about – who will forget that wonderful show in a hurry. It was fabulous. All 150 us of had a ball and came out “blown to pieces”. My mother’s hearing aid will never be the same. Thanks to all who joined us.
Isn’t it great to know that the winter is finally coming to an end? Trying to keep warm this winter has been hard going, especially when leaving home early in morning.
Now is the time to look around at the really great “sales” and purchase a bargain. Remember though to get the best value from your bargains, coordinate what you buy with what you already have in your wardrobe. I am still wearing clothes I bought 15 years ago, and last week I wore a lovely black wool crepe skirt which I purchased 25 years ago. It is worth buying one classic, good quality item that will last for years. Can you tell that I have been into fashion from ‘way back’?
Now, firstly, a big “thank you” to all who attended the “” luncheon at Sirocco’s in the Burswood Complex. What a great day we had and enjoyed lovely food to compliment the good company. Also I must also say “thanks” for the “pressies” that you all bought for each other. It was a fantastic outcome. I even ended up with a present too… my Nigel won the Door Prize and I look forward to my first meal at The Carvery!
I look forward to seeing many of you at our next lunch in the in the Season of Perth Hotel on the 19 August. It is a delightful little restaurant with a delightful little buffet. The booking form is in the paper so get your booking in ASAP or call me direct.
Bookings for WA Ballet’s have started to come in and I need to remind you that these tickets are very limited. So if you were thinking of seeing this beautiful ballet on your next theatre outing, please send in for your tickets. To all ballet lovers, this will be fabulous production. The booking form is in this issue. You only have until the 16 August to get your payment in.
The WASO Morning Concert, in October, is filling quickly and as you well know, these concert have become very popular with our readers and especially as it is followed by a buffet lunch at the Duxton afterwards. For those of you who do not attend the WASO concerts, I plan to invite all readers to the Duxton for a special “Let’s do Lunch” function later in the year. I know you would all enjoy this venue. They also do a great afternoon high-tea.
Once again we will visit the for an “overview” of the wonderful work they do under the leadership of Professor Fiona Stanley. As many of us have grandchildren, it is so necessary for us to understand some of the childhood illnesses that can affect anyone’s family. Last time we visited, we were able to watch various tests and experiments that help us understand today’s modern technology and how it helps to find cures for childhood illnesses. We will be having a complimentary morning tea there and your payment will be donated to the institute on the day we visit. The booking form is in this issue.
Spring is catching us up so I have arranged for a trip to the as we did last year where we will visit various art galleries, wineries and enjoy a lovely lunch along the way. Our friends at Cascade will be our hosts and as usual you can expect a great day out with great company. Our booking form is in this issue.
Take care and cheers,
Anne
