Established in 1991, Have a Go News is the ONLY wholly family owned Western Australian newspaper for the mature market and is the longest running paper available for the demographic.
Over the years Have a Go News has received many acknowledgements and awards including winning the WA Senior Awards, 2000, 2006, 2010, was a finalist in WA Heritage Awards 2009. Won the 2011 media award for the Bethanie Medallion and many other accolades.

Each month, Have a Go News features interesting stories and regular features. In the 25 years of publishing the paper has featured exclusive interviews with Suzi Quattro, Leo Sayer, Buzz Aldren, Anthony Warlow, Sir Cliff Richard, Renee Geyer, John Waters, Kate Ceberano and many Australian celebrities and unsung heroes in our community. Each month the paper features stories about inspirational people, activities, events and services specifically for the mature Western Australian.
Regular features include: Let’s go Traveling liftout, Healthy Living, Food and Wine, Downsizing, Arts and Entertainment and a selection of columns from contributors on a monthly basis.
The Let’s go Travelling section is the most comprehensive of its genre and is specifically dedicated to the needs of the mature Western Australian traveller in a liftout format. Our travel editor Jen Merigan also runs the Talking Travel group for readers where interested travellers come along and share stories and tips. More than 1500 people have attended the meetings since their inception.
Each month Have a Go News has a myriad of competitions for its readers. In the years of publishing the paper has given away more than 20 overseas holidays to Malaysia, Bali, New Zealand and Africa. Other prizes include tickets to films and major shows, various products including DVDs, cosmetics, food hampers and books. There is always a great selection of prizes on offer for readers.
